NOTE:: FOR ALL COURSES::
  • Students must maintain a minimum of an FAA Second Class Medical Certificate.
  • Transport Security Administration (TSA) authorization is required before starting any flight training course.

  • FAA APPROVED PRIVATE PILOT CERTIFICATION COURSE
    Educational Objective: This course is for the student who has little or no flight time and wishes to obtain a Private Pilot Helicopter Certificate. A Private Pilot Certificate allows you to fly passengers and to share expenses, but you can't get paid to fly.

    FAA Private Pilot Requirements:
  • Be at least 17 years of age
  • Read, write, speak and understand English
  • Pass the Private Pilot Rotorcraft-Helicopter knowledge exam and practical test

    Aircraft: The Robinson R22 Beta II is used for this course. For safety reasons, Guidance has implemented a pilot weight restriction of 200 pounds. For students over 200 pounds the Robinson R44 Raven II can be substituted for the R22 Beta II at additional cost.



    FAA APPROVED INSTRUMENT PILOT RATING COURSE
    Educational Objective: This course is for the student who holds a Private or Commercial Helicopter Certificate. An Instrument Rating allows a pilot to fly in Instrument Meteorological Conditions (in the clouds).

    FAA Instrument Pilot Rating Requirements:
  • Be at least 17 years of age
  • Read, write, speak and understand English
  • Hold at least a Private Pilot Rotorcraft-Helicopter Certificate
  • Pass the Private Pilot Rotorcraft-Helicopter knowledge exam and practical test

    Aircraft: The Robinson R44 Raven II and the FlyIt Simulator are used for this course. Guidance Helicopters', Inc. R44 IFR trainers incorporate "state of the art technology" including the Garmin GNS 430 with comm., nav, and GPS and a Marker Beacon.



    FAA APPROVED COMMERCIAL PILOT CERTIFICATION COURSE
    Educational Objective: This course is for the student who has a Private Pilot Helicopter Certificate. A Commercial Helicopter Pilot Certificate allows a pilot to be paid for flying.

    FAA Commercial Pilot Requirements:
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Read, write, speak and understand English
  • Hold a Private Pilot Rotorcraft-Helicopter Certificate
  • Pass the Commercial Pilot Rotorcraft-Helicopter knowledge exam and practical test

  • Hold at least a Commercial Pilot Rotorcraft-Helicopter Certificate.
  • Pass the Certified Flight Instructor-Helicopter knowledge exams and practical test

    CERTIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR-INSTRUMENT HELICOPTER CERTIFICATION COURSE
    Educational Objective: This course is for the student who has at least a Commercial Pilot Certificate. A Flight Instructor Certificate allows a pilot to give flight instruction for the instrument rating and to be paid.

    FAA Certified Flight Instructor-Instrument Helicopter Requirements:
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Read, write, speak and understand English
  • Hold at least a Commercial Pilot Rotorcraft-Helicopter Certificate with Instrument Rating
  • Pass the Certified Flight Instructor-Instrument Helicopter knowledge exam and practical test.
